York

We have had an excellent day for touring York. To the north and south of us it is flooding--steady rain Tursday evening and all day Friday. We toured the Castle Museum which was history artifacts and displays from the 17th century to the present. They had a large room devoted to the 1960's, which was very disconcerting--we do not belong in a museum! Simply walking the streets is similar to being in 19th century England. We saw a World War II Memorial with the following inscription: "When you go home, tell them of us and say, 'For your tomorrow, we gave our today.' " We have come upon some of the most interesting memorials and places simply by wandering the streets.

Susan said that I am like her computer; I lack enough memory and have no drive.
