Granada

Our visit to La Alhambra was everything I anticipated and more. I first learned of Alhambra in sixth grade history. It took me 54 years to visit it. Alhambra is actually six palaces joined together by gardens and walk ways. Five of them were built by the Moors during their occupation of Spain. Fortunately, the Spanish kings did not destroy them. The sixth palace was built by King Carlos V. The entire medina (city) was enclosed by a wall. One end of the mountain top was the fort, next to it the palaces, then the city. Gardens lined the streets. The intricate designs within the palace walls is incredible.

Does it seem real that you are really seeing all these beautiful places???? Continue to enjoy...You will have to come back to rest!!!!! Margaret
