Gibraltar
Today we drove to Gibraltar and saw a first--jet airliners taking off across the main highway that leads into the city. Traffic stops on each side of the runways while airliners take off and land. We waited 30 minutes while the airport had priority. The rock of Gibraltar is much larger than pictures make it appear. We were very surprised at the size. The town is a mecca for tourists--shops, shops, shops, shops...Susan was in heaven. We ate at a British Pub, used British sterling and listened to everyone around us speak English--we did not realize how much we missed hearing English.
