The time passes quickly. Heathrow requires much walking--no wonder the Brits are thin. Driving is an experience-"if you drive on the left you are right; those who drive on the right are wrong." The streets and roads are very narrow and no one wants to "give way." Doors of houses enter almost onto the road. People from all over the world are on our tour--so many accents for me to understand. In Dublin a German lady gave us directions. Down Cathedral the site of St. Patrick's grave was an experience. Visited Queen's University in Belfast. CS Lewiss studied here. Traveled the Antrim Coast along the Irish Sea and passed through quaint villages. Saw Scotland in the distance. Toured Old Bushmills- the oldest licensed distillary in the word; sampled 12 year old whiskey. Toured Derry and walked on top of the walled city. Learned of the Troubles beginning in the late 1960's. Random thoughts: Unlike Sr. Anglela no one has called me a bold, brazen piece. People everywhere are more alike than we realized. We are learning so much on this tour. I wished I had taken a lap top and half the clothes. So far I cannot use my reader to down load pics. A bottle of Bud cossts £3.10 or $6.20. It is very difficult to type on the computers--you have to pound the keys.
